Assistant Executive Director – Commercial Services

Salary: £76,109 - £83,980 pa

At Oldham Council, we have brought services together to create one clear, Council wide vision which combines the strengths of each area and builds stronger platforms and partnerships from which to launch better services for the people of Oldham.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, commercially aware, strategic manager who has a strong commitment to transforming services for the benefit of the public.

As a key member of the senior management team, there is signifi cant potential here to infl uence and lead in the development of the overarching Commercial Services Strategy in addition to supporting the direction and development of a cooperative Council.

The current focus will be on leading and developing Commercial Services which brings together existing Procurement, ICT and Programme Management services into a cohesive unit which can further deliver and shape the Council's strategic aims. To succeed in this role you will have a proven track record of successful leadership within an organisation of comparable scope and complexity.

You will have a developedunderstanding of the strategic drivers for the services for whichyou will be responsible, a proven track record in delivering services through the effective management of key external service providers and implementing significant change programmes to a successful conclusion.
