Assistant Head of Finance (Cornwall Council)

Truro. Finance is right at the top of the agenda here at Cornwall. Our bold financial strategy has placed us in an enviable financial position, with healthy reserves. Now we're redesigning our Finance Service to meet changing needs and realising our exciting vision for the future.

This is where you come in.

We'll need a dynamic person to lead and inspire our Pension and Treasury team to deliver outstanding results whilst promoting best practice. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll get us in even better shape for the financial challenges ahead by reflecting our forward thinking and innovative approach to treasury and pension fund investments.

Your accounting qualification will be supported by a keen understanding of public sector accounting and pension fund management best practice. Treasury management and pension fund investment and governance experience is essential, together with a creative and innovative mindset. You'll also be a natural leader who can get the very best from all around you. Confident, credible and politically aware, you'll be capable of building relationships and driving change at every level both within and outside the Council.

This is a chance to be part of a successful, customer-focused organisation. Competitive rewards include car allowance, attractive pension scheme and generous relocation if applicable.

Closing date: 20th July 2012. Interviews: 1st week in August.

Please apply online by following this link. If you require our application pack in a different format, please call 01872 323 800 or email. Cornwall Council is committed to safeguarding and is an equal opportunities employer.
