Why should we care about the local outcomes framework?

When the local government outcomes framework (LGOF, now local outcomes framework, LOF) was announced by Angela Rayner back in July 2025, it was a welcome bold assertion of two core ideas:

- firstly, that it is about time we had greater clarity and alignment on what good local government is, and
