Our CCN councils are pro-housing growth, if delivered the right way

The planning system is one of the main ways people feel they can influence and shape their communities, says Simon Edwards. 'It is important the Government now listens to the sector's views, and works in collaboration to ensure the ‘local' remains in planning.'

From our first housing conference in 2018 to our 2025 report showcasing best practice, the County Councils' Network (CCN) can call on a large body of research dedicated to housing and planning.

We've highlighted that house prices in county areas are among the highest in England and advocated for policies allowing members to increase delivery of homes, enabling more people to own their own home, while revealing infrastructure must be delivered before development.
