Bridgend County Borough Council aims to deliver the best local services in Wales. The Role:

* To advise Cabinet and Council on policy issues relating to the council's functions and services and provide visible leadership through strong communication and engagement with employees, citizens and partners.
* To lead the development of strategies to deliver the council's vision and ensure effective arrangements are in place to ensure understanding and delivery of the strategic priorities and improvement objectives.
* To provide strong and visible leadership in the management of change processes, develop and review the management of resources, partnership arrangements to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services.


The Candidate:

* A substantial record of strategic leadership and management in a multidisciplinary organisation with extensive experience of ensuring the developing and translating of strategy and policy into effective operational plans.
* Experience of working with elected members and the democratic decision making process and a comprehensive understanding of the services delivered on behalf of local government.
* Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability of driving a performance management culture and a successful track record of engagement with citizens.
