WORKFORCE

Chief Executive

Epping Forest District Council works hard to improve the quality of life for its residents and service users. The district has a reputation for affl uence, however across our broad range of communities there are also pockets of real deprivation.

In recent years, we have made progress in improving services and fulfi lling our aims for the district, but, the future of the public sector will be turbulent and challenging. The challenge is to raise the bar and deliver exceptional outcomes for all, whilst preserving the best of what we already have.

As our new Chief Executive, you will provide innovation, inspiration and leadership not just within the Council but also exerting influence across the district and the broader Essex region.

Specifically we will need you to:

* Spearhead our determination to safeguard frontline services that our local residents tell us are important;
* Drive forward plans continuously to improve efficiency by adopting new ways of working with our partners and making best use of our assets;
* Create the momentum to deliver these changes whilst also realising our aspiration to have the lowest District Council Tax in Essex and maintain that position;
* Achieve our ambition to be recognised as an innovative and transparent council, involving residents in our decisions;
* Provide clear community leadership and be a strong advocate, championing the interests of the people of Epping Forest and protecting the special character of the District.

If you have the outstanding leadership skills and track record that such a role requires, visit our website or contact our retained consultant, Jon Houlihan on 0121 644 5710 at GatenbySanderson.

Closing date: 16th April 2012.
