Corporate Director, Economic Regeneration

Up to £85k

Shepway District has a huge amount to be proud of. Over the past five years, the area has seen a real and positive change through the introduction of High Speed Rail Services at Folkestone Central and Folkestone West, the development of Folkestone Creative Quarter, the refurbishment of the Hotel Imperial in Hythe and the introduction of two new Academy schools – in Folkestone and the Romney Marsh.

There is a real appetite to catalyse further sustainable economic development activity across the District. Many of the ingredients are already in place with unique transport links and a willingness to work constructively with partners across the public and private sectors. There are a number of signifi cant regeneration projects which need to be brought to effective delivery on the ground for the benefit of our residents and generations to come. And that is where you come in. We are seeking an experienced leader to drive forward a coherent and ambitious economic regeneration strategy and to oversee the delivery of key landmark projects. You will need to work effectively with our partners forging and brokering important relationships to ensure tangible results. There is a clear opportunity to raise Shepway's profile, to challenge perceptions and to stimulate further investment and development opportunities. Harnessing the talents of the team and focusing on delivering projects, you will ensure that Shepway punches above its weight and realises its aspirations. You will send out a clear message that Shepway is open for business and receptive to ambitious regeneration activity.
