Councillors press minister on SEND costs

A minister was pressed on financial challenges posed by children’s services when she appeared before councillors at the Local Government Association.

A minister was pressed on financial challenges posed by children's services when she appeared before councillors at the Local Government Association (LGA).

Chief among the issues raised with children and families minister Janet Daby at yesterday's councillors' forum was whether the statutory override for deficits caused by services for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) would be extended.
