Councils 'should take responsibility' for bailiffs

Councils must take responsibility for their bailiffs’ actions, the Local Government Ombudsman reports.

Councils must take responsibility for their bailiffs' actions, and ensure complaints are handled properly, the Local Government Ombudsman has warned.

A LGO report issued today outlines issues arising from complaints about bailiff actions on behalf of councils.
