Counties want to be collaborative on adult social care

Baroness Casey’s review provides an opportunity to turn the focus towards investing in prevention, says Simon Edwards.

It wouldn't be a start-of-the-year column without declaring this to be another big 12 months in local government, with reforms in special educational needs and disabilities, finance and reorganisation on the horizon.

But what may have slipped under the radar is that it's also a significant year for adult social care, with the Casey Commission scheduled to publish its first recommendations.
