Director of Finance and Corporate Services

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has achieved an enviable position as one of the highest performing Councils in Wales across all services. The Council understands the financial challenges it faces and has put in place a transformation programme to implement changes in the way it works, as well as generating savings within specific service areas.

The Role:

* To ensure that the authority's approach to financial management and reporting is in line with statutory and professional requirements and supports the delivery of the Council's priorities
* To provide leadership to the Council's Legal and ICT teams in support of the delivery of continuously improving and innovative services
* To play a key role in the corporate Management of the Council, including leading key transformational projects


The Candidate: * An appropriately qualified individual with a strong track record of financial management in the public sector
* Experience of successfully leading and delivering key strategic projects
* The ability to effectively influence others, within and outside the Council, through leadership and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
