Director of Governance and Commissioning

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is a strong and high-performing organisation with an outstanding track record. Now, driven by an ambitious and forward-thinking approach, we are building on our achievements to date and implementing a commissioning based structure.

As part of a management team of three, your role will be central to the success of this new structure, as well as the future direction of the council as a whole. Taking responsibility for the effective implementation and delivery of the commissioning framework, you will lead on the identification of key needs and priorities, define and develop a clear strategic vision and build sound partnerships with colleagues, residents and external organisations.

With proven experience at senior management level, you are a strong and motivational leader who can enthuse and inspire those around you. A good understanding of the commissioning approach is also essential, along with the ability to forge a positive performance culture within which people are encouraged to innovate, challenge, develop new solutions and be positive.
