Director for People's Services

Herefordshire is a great place to live and work, but it is a place that offers more than just the most unspoilt countryside in the UK. It has secured a reputation for innovation and creativity in its endeavours to provide the highest quality in integrated public services.

In 2007 Herefordshire initiated the ground breaking integration of Council and NHS services, and continues its trailblazing commitment to deliver efficient, excellent services and improved outcomes for its communities. What is more, the scope of the integration has included bringing the provision of community health care, adult social care and hospital care together, and the creation of a joint venture company to provide shared back-office support functions.

As Director for People's Services, you'll lead the central commissioning function for Public Health, Adult Social Care and Children's Services, taking on statutory responsibilities for Adult Social Care and Children Services. Your outstanding leadership and experience of operating at the highest level in a comparable public/private sector environment will ensure the delivery of high quality, sustainable, public services for the people of Herefordshire.

Closing date for applications is 14 October 2011.
