Local Government Reorganisation dominates DCN chat

The District Council's Network reception may have saw the baton handed to a new chairman, but the chatter was dominated by talk of reorganisation, says Kathy O'Leary

We were at the recent District Councils' Network annual parliamentary reception in the House of Lords to see the changing of the guard, with outgoing chair, Sam Chapman-Allen, handing over the baton to Richard Wright.

We speculated that Kemi had found herself in the wrong place and done a quick U-turn, but a reliable source informed us her brief appearance was simply to thank the retiring chair for his four years' service.
