Doncaster Children's Services Trust – Chief Executive

Chief Executive - Doncaster Children Services

Salary: Attractive six figure salary.

A chance to be part of the most exciting opportunity in children's services.

Over the last 10 years, you will have heard about the struggle to improve children's services in Doncaster. Now everyone agrees that the solution has to be different.

Doncaster Children's Services Trust is a new kind of organisation – independent, innovative and resolutely focused on bringing about a step-change in the performance of children's services.

Initially covering children's social care, but with ambition to extend its remit and influence through its effectiveness over time, the Trust will be run by a Chief Executive accountable to its Board. With a highly experienced Chair recently appointed by the

Secretary of State, we are now looking for an outstanding and ambitious Chief Executive to lead the Trust.

Candidates will need to have a substantial track record of leading improvements in services for children and young people. As well as a passion for improving the life chances of Doncaster's children and young people, you will be able to innovate, challenge engrained practice and inspire your staff.

Your focus will be on:

  • engagement with children, young people and families to identify need and drive service development;
  • creating a model of outstanding front line practice in social work;
  • establishing a business-like culture that is efficient and founded upon clear values and robust performance management;
  • challenging and reshaping the landscape for the provision of children's services.
  • You will also be keen to work with what is a radical new governance structure in children's services – one which has the ambition to become a benchmark for good practice nationally.

It won't be easy, but it will be life changing – for you and for Doncaster's communities. For more information please see www.gatenbysanderson.com (ref GS15642) or talk to our advising consultants Luke Judd (0113 205 6077) or Martin Tucker (020 7426 3963).

Closing date: 14 March 2014.
