A future Labour government would double the single local growth fund cash pot to £20bn over the next Spending Review period, Labour Party leader Ed Miliband has pledged.
Making a keynote speech in Birmingham today to publish the initial conclusions of Lord Adonis' growth review, Mr Miliband claimed the devolution measures, to be included in the next Labour Party manifesto, mark an end to a 'a century of centralisation'.

Mr Miliband said that national growth has been dominated by London to the detriment of great towns and cities such as Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Cardiff.
