The Government's fair funding review will ‘not resolve the underlying issue of insufficient overall funding' for the sector, auditor Grant Thornton has said.

Writing in The MJ this week, the firm's public services advisory director Simon Christian and its public services advisory associate director Jonathan Meek argued that while the review may serve to rebalance funding across the country there will remain a need for councils to continue the call for increased investment.
