Senior Local Government Association (LGA) figures have urged the organisation to do more to court the growing army of mayors amid fears it could be sidelined.

The latest two mayoral strategic authorities to be formed – the Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority and Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority – have signed up to the formal UK Mayors network but have yet to decide their future relationship with the LGA.
