EXCLUSIVE: Fair funding fightback

An alliance of urban authorities is pressing the Government to change tack on the fair funding review.

The group of ‘relatively deprived' authorities fear they will lose out in the review despite the Government's pledge to ensure funding goes to the ‘places and services that need it most'.

Chief executive of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Jon Rouse, recently told The MJ: ‘We've basically got an alliance for authorities, all of whom are urban, relatively deprived authorities, all of whom are not doing very well out of the consultation modelling.
