WORKFORCE

Head of Early Help and Social Work

An excellent opportunity to play a leading role in a new and developing service within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. As a key member of the Family Services Leadership Team you will embed the newly implemented Early Help Service alongside Play and Children Centre Services. You will also be responsible for the delivery of some Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children social work services provided by the Emergency Duty and Hospital social work teams.

Kensington and Chelsea continues to pride itself on the delivery of high quality and creative social care services; it is currently protecting the front line from financial reductions by innovative work with Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster Councils to combine services where it is beneficial to do so.

This position therefore provides a real opportunity for an experienced manager to play a significant role in the tri borough Extended Leadership Team, contributing to the transformational change programme and taking a lead on specific change projects.

We are looking for someone with flair, imagination and the passion to drive this multi-disciplinary service forward and break new ground. You will need substantial management experience including child protection work and you will need to be a qualified social worker registered with the HCPC. You will also be expected to demonstrate a real commitment to making a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families.
