WORKFORCE

Head of Internal Audit and Anti Fraud

Do you have the qualifications and knowledge to oversee an innovative commissioning model?

At the London Borough of Barnet, we believe in making changes that will bring positive results. Our goal is to serve our community to the best of our ability and we place the people of Barnet at the heart of everything we do. Establishing better ways of working is important, but it's the impact they have on our borough that's paramount. We're undertaking a major transformation to bring commissioning to the heart of what we do.

Our Assurance Group is vital to the commissioning business model. It provides independent oversight and assurance on governance procedures and business processes. Your main task will be to lead all internal audit activity to ensure that our systems operate as they should, according to best practice. It means directing the internal audit service; leading on corporate anti-fraud measures (including prevention, detection and investigation arrangements); and acting as the Chief Internal Auditor. With your expertise, the Council will meet the highest standards of governance across the organisation and its partners.

CMIIA or CCAB-qualified, you will be a skilled team leader with experience in the anti-fraud field. You understand the local government policy environment; how local authorities work; and the context they operate in. You're also degree-educated (or equivalent), with a gift for clear communication. Analytical and a natural problem solver, you'll have the expertise to make key strategic decisions, deliver cost savings and inspire your team to perform at its best.

Expiry date 25 November, 2012.
