We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Management Team, as a Head of Legal and Democratic Services and Monitoring Officer. This post plays a crucial role in providing the legal and democratic framework that the Council operates within. Taking the lead and providing the legal expertise, the Monitoring Officer role will involve ensuring that probity and standards are maintained, not only in the District Council but also within Parish and Town Councils throughout our District.

If you are successful you will be involved in a critical year for the service, including reviewing Council's constitution, developing a new committee structure in light of the electoral review, progressing shared service approaches to service delivery, as well as advising District, Parish and Town Councillors standards and ethics matters.

To succeed in this role you will have had experience in a senior management position with budget, staffing and organisational responsibility, and will have a sound understanding of local and central government issues and initiatives. As this post will act as the Principal Solicitor to the Council, you must be a qualified Solicitor.
