WORKFORCE

Head of Performance and Resources (Bracknell Forest)

Full-time

At Bracknell Forest we are constantly evolving, and now is a critical but exciting time for the organisation as well as the community. In addition to the budget challenges all local authorities face, during the next year over half the department moves to new accommodation in our town centre building, Time Square.

Providing advice and back-office professional support to over 600 staff and managers, including the Director of Environment, Culture and Communities and Members, your challenge is to deliver effective services that support the Department's activities.

Your role will include developing and implementing policies, projects and work plans and allocating resources to ensure that objectives are met effectively and within budget. The role leads finance, HR, IT and procurement sections as well as our nationally renowned multi-functional smart card team. The post also has a significant individual policy workload, leading the department in such areas as performance management, equalities, customer care and business continuity planning.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent, and with a successful track record of departmental management in HR, Finance or ICT at a senior level, you should be familiar with writing policies and procedures, business planning and monitoring. Knowledge of local authority finance is essential, along with strong analytical skills and a practical and customer-focused approach to business. An excellent leader and communicator, you will establish strong relationships across the Council.

Located in East Berkshire, with easy access to both attractive countryside and nearby cities, along with a thriving community and a good quality of life, our local area represents an ideal place to live.

Flexible working and flexible benefits.

Closing date: Sunday 11 March 2012, Midnight
