WORKFORCE

Head of Policy and Performance

Staffordshire County Council is one of the largest local authorities in the UK. Innovative and forward thinking, we're dedicated to transforming our county for the better. For example, we played a pivotal role in attracting the new Jaguar Land Rover Engine plant to Staffordshire, by investing millions in a new dedicated junction for the site on the M54. The plant will create 750 jobs – and drive the economy.

Right now, we're at the start of a major transformation process, which, as part of our reshaped Wider Leadership Team, you will help drive forward. Working in partnership with public, private and 3rd sector organisations across the county, you will develop strategies and commission services that make sure Staffordshire is a great place to live, work and do business for all of our communities, citizens and businesses.

We'll look to you to lead both our corporate policy and performance management functions, providing expertise and advice at the highest level. You'll also make sure that the right performance management processes are in place for us to actively monitor progress against our main objectives.

You will need to have considerable experience in the public or voluntary sector in a role that involves either policy development or research. You are also a seasoned manager, who has proven skills in project, change and performance management - as well as having the financial acumen to deliver impressive services within budget. Above all, you're an inspirational leader who can build multi-disciplinary teams, and establish highly-effective partnerships in the private, public and voluntary sectors.

Closing date for applications: 5pm, Wednesday 30th November 2011.
