Head of Procurement at Leicester City Council

Division: Financial Services. Full-time.

We're changing the way we do things here in Leicester. In 2011 Leicester elected its first City Mayor and we've now reshaped our senior management team to ensure we have the very best people to face the challenges ahead.

We believe Procurement is an enabler to deliver quality services and improve positive engagement with businesses, voluntary organisations and the communities we serve.

Following a Strategic Review in 2012, we've made significant and rapid progress in this area already and are now looking for the right person to continue the commercial transformation and build momentum to the next level.

That's why we need a highly motivated and visionary Head of Procurement to make significant changes to the service, adding real value by implementing procurement best practice across the authority in a creative and engaging way.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to how we procure at Leicester, raising the bar further to maximise transparency and value for money, and influencing a £350m budget.

You'll be working closely with the City Mayor, key politicians and senior management colleagues across the authority to ensure we deliver a dynamic service that improves the procurement service outcomes, at the same time whilst delivering savings.

You'll need to demonstrate a significant track record of achievement at senior level.

You'll also share our passion to make a real difference to our rapidly changing and diverse city.
