Brighton & Hove City Council's Children's Services are recruiting a Head of Safeguarding and Child Protection, with extensive experience of work in safeguarding children and young people to provide leadership for safeguarding and quality assurance services.

This key post has a wide range of responsibilities including the IRO service, quality assurance, the effective management of the LADO and LCSB business, as well as working alongside a range of partners to deliver services supporting the local LCSB and delivering better outcomes for children and young people.

You will be managed by the Assistant Director (Health, Sure Start and Social Work)and you will join the Children's Senior Social Work Management Group. You will have a direct relationship and accountabilities to the Director of Children's Services. You will be joining the department alongside a new Executive Director of Children's Services, a new chair of the LCSB and a recently appointed Chief Executive with a national profile in children's services and social work, all contributing to a raised recognition of children's services within the Council.
