HEAD OF SERVICE: HR AND TRAINING

You will play a key role in helping us to achieve this ambition.

Your focus will be to deliver a service-wide workforce strategy. HR is seen as a key strategic partner to the delivery of success. You'll provide operational oversight for all aspects of HR & Training delivery to continually improve performance. As a member of the Service Management Team, you'll also provide input to help shape strategy for the corporate leadership of the service.

We'll look to you for specialist professional advice and guidance on the full range of people management issues for the Service. Along with your own considerable responsibilities, you'll be expected to deputise for the Director of HR & Training as may be required.

To excel, you'll need to be used to working at a middle or senior management level in a large of complex HR team. Alongside your CIPD qualification, a management qualification such as DMS or NVQ Level 5 in management will prove invaluable. Experience of creating and implementing people management policy and planning activities is vital.

Politically sensitive with the ability to think strategically, you'll also bring exceptional influencing, negotiating, persuading and conciliatory skills. Customer-focused, you've experience of dealing with complex contractual issues and employment law issues.
