Ex-home secretary to chair kids' trust

Former home secretary Jacqui Smith will chair the board of the new Sandwell Children’s Social Care Trust.

Former home secretary Jacqui Smith will chair the board of the new Sandwell Children's Social Care Trust.

Ms Smith, a former Labour MP for Redditch, will lead a board tasked with improving local multi-agency working for services designed to protect vulnerable children. The board will also focus on driving the trust's innovation agenda.
