‘Must do better' is the verdict from Ofsted ( ~Office for Standards in Education~) and CSCI ( ~Commission for Social Care Inspection~) on children's services provided by councils. In their latest joint report, Ofsted and CSCI say that although 60% of councils now provide improved standards of social care compared with just 50% last year, there is still a need for sustained improvement. The report calls for more work to reduce reoffending, action to reduce teenage pregnancies, and higher educational attainment for looked-after children.
