Kirklees MBC could not have foreseen the murder of a four-year-old child who came into contact with the council's social services department. This was the conclusion of an independent report examining the murder of Leticia Wright by her mother Sharon Wright and her boyfriend Peter McKenzie-Seaton. The report recognised certain aspects of Leticia Wright's case could have been ‘handled differently', but added: ‘The tragic death could not have been foreseen by anyone in the local authority.'
