Leicester City Council various roles

Leicester's leading the way!

Leicester's leading the way!

Leicester is seeking three ambitious individuals to help drive our transformation into one of the UK's major destinations for inward investment, business and tourism.

This is a city that is facing the future with confidence. Our recent achievements include securing £400m in capital investment to transform our city centre and drive economic development, being chosen as a host city for the Rugby World Cup, being shortlisted as a finalist for 2017 UK City of Culture and developing our ambitious Connecting Leicester project to create a thriving heart of the city.

On top of this, the discovery of King Richard III has placed Leicester's heritage and cultural offer firmly on the international map and provides a corner stone for our plans to secure inward investment.

One of the first UK cities to be led by a directly elected mayor, we are driving a programme of change, transformation, innovation and regeneration. We have an ambitious Economic Action Plan to unlock the tremendous potential for growth and believe that stronger economic performance will allow us to tackle the elements of disparity within the City.

Following a major review we have a structure in place that it is fit for purpose and will deliver our aspirations and those of our partners, businesses and residents.

We are now looking to attract high calibre staff to the following business critical roles:

Director of Investment

(£76,725 to £85,575)

You will lead and shape this new service and drive transformation and performance improvement.

You will be responsible for overseeing the Council's portfolio of property assets and ensuring that the Council maximises the financial, economic and wider community benefits from these assets. The post holder will oversee a major programme of capital and development projects, including the relocation of the Council's offices and the redevelopment of the resulting prime city centre site.

Head of Inward Investment

(£63,945 to £68,853)

You will create and lead an inward investment service responsible for marketing Leicester in a proactive way. You will work with departments across the city council and partners to offer a highly professional, customer focused and responsive service to potential investors and existing businesses in the city.

The post holder will have a good understanding of the importance of marketing cities and have the ability to influence and work effectively with investors to support them all the way through their projects.

Head of Facilities Management

(£47,478 to £50,985)

You will be responsible for delivering a fundamental shift in the way that FM services are delivered in the authority. You will have a demonstrable track record of delivering first class, modern, customer focused and wrap around services to a range of clients and stakeholders.

We're looking for committed, passionate and outstanding individuals with the enthusiasm and determination to drive exciting changes in our incredible city. If you think you have what it takes to be a success in these roles we would very much like to hear from you.

For more information please visit the Leicester City Council- Green Park website. We also recommend that you contact our advising consultants Yvonne Frayling or Gabriella Torres-White of Green Park on 0207 399 3990 for a confidential conversation on the roles and the selection process.
