LGA emergency meeting as chief takes leave of absence

The Local Government Association (LGA) yesterday held an emergency board meeting after chief executive Joanna Killian announced she was taking ‘unexpected leave’.

Staff were told last week Killian would be taking time off ‘for personal reasons' amid the ongoing restructure, but that the consultation over the new operating model was still on track.

As The MJ went to press, the board was poised to hold the emergency meeting to reconsider the restructure and potentially put an acting chief in place.
