Lincolnshire reorganisation poses 'destabilising' risk

North East Lincolnshire Council has laid out its case against a rival reorganisation bid that would see it merged into a larger northern Lincolnshire unitary authority.

North East Lincolnshire Council has laid out its case against a rival reorganisation bid that would see it merged into a larger northern Lincolnshire unitary authority.

Its alternative proposal, which advocates retaining its existing boundaries, says the transitional costs of merging the local authority with North Lincolnshire Council to create a larger unitary, are ‘likely to be significant, with realistic estimates ranging from £34m – £47m'.
