Managing Director at Reading Borough Council

It's a time of real change here at Reading – change that will be driven and defined not by the Council but by our community. With meaningful public involvement at the heart of our philosophy we will identify what will work best with and for the people of Reading. And you can take the lead in delivering it.

Working closely with our political leadership you'll articulate community ambitions as practical changes to the way we work and our service to residents. You'll lead and support creativity and innovation from colleagues and encourage our organisation continually to question and review performance, whatever our achievements to date. Politically astute, you'll support clear communication of ideas and objectives between Members and Officers, and promote clear accountability to deliver measurable results. Ideally you'll possess that rare blend of skills that will enable you to have a sound grasp of operational detail but never lose sight of the big picture.

You should be able to demonstrate how you've led and delivered improvement throughout your career. Find out more at this link or contact Terry McDougall at SOLACE Enterprises on 0845 6010649.

Closing date: 6 August.
