Managing Director South Tyneside Homes

Up to £100k

plus attractive benefits package and pension scheme

Since we began life in 2006, South Tyneside Homes - South Tyneside Council's Housing Company – has achieved great things. We manage over 20,000 homes on behalf of the council, delivering a high specification decent homes programme across the borough, whilst managing high-performing housing management and property services for our diverse community.

Although the housing sector faces significant challenges, we are now looking forward to the next phase in our journey. This includes the development of attractive modern housing options on brownfield sites, seamless support services (in partnership with our council and public sector colleagues), and continued investment in our teams to get the best out of our talented workforce.

Through Investors in People Gold, Times Top 100 not-for-profit status, APSE Best Apprenticeships recognition and Gold Better Health at Work accreditation we have recognised that engagement with, commitment from and investment in our people leads to outstanding services to our customers. The challenge is to maintain these standards of excellence during the tough times ahead.

As our Managing Director you will be responsible for working in partnership with the Council and the South Tyneside Homes Board to deliver visionary leadership of Housing Services. As an experienced professional at Executive level in a comparable organisation, you will have proven success in managing change and enhancing and modernising public services. With excellent relationship management skills, resilience and political insight you will need to thrive in a climate of change and possess the transformational leadership skills, personal integrity and commercial acumen to inspire employees, partners, customers and the wider community to work together for the benefit of our tenants and leaseholders.

For an informal discussion in relation to this role please contact Martin Knowles, Interim Senior Director, on 0191 426 8400.

Closing date for applications 12noon Friday 4th October 2013
