A leading Whitehall digital expert has warned councils artificial intelligence (AI) will not lead to big budget savings.

Jason Kitcat, director of digital data and technology at the Department for Business and Trade, told delegates at the Local Government Association (LGA) conference in Bournemouth: ‘There is no clear evidence it's money-saving in most cases.
