Landmark plans for the first working fusion prototype power plant have put the East Midlands firmly at the forefront of Britain's drive to become a clean energy superpower.

The £200m redevelopment of the former West Burton Power Station in Nottinghamshire opens the doors to virtually limitless clean energy, and will support the creation of 8,000 jobs, according to the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA).
