Meeting the levelling up challenge: matching investors with councils

The MJ is about to launch its Investment Guide to the UK and has teamed up with an exciting new regeneration event to help match investors with local authorities and level up their communities.

As the market-leading news weekly media for local government chief executives, directors and leaders The MJ has teamed up with the UK's leading regeneration exhibition and conference, the UK Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), now in its second year.

The event, on 16-18 May in Leeds, will gather all the key players, influencers and decision makers within the investment and real estate markets to highlight investment and development opportunities.

UKREiiF's mission statement is ‘to connect people, places and businesses to accelerate the levelling up agenda, whilst unlocking sustainable, inclusive and transformational investment across the UK.'

The MJ is publishing The MJ Investment Guide to the UK which will be distributed at UKREiiF to investors and developers as well as circulated to its key local government readership both online and in print. The guide will contain vital information and analysis about the UK's cities, regions and countries and their opportunities for investors.

Supported by a high number of regional combined authorities, local councils and Government departments – as well as the largest developers and investors from across the UK and internationally – this event will gather all the key players, influencers and decision makers within the investment and real estate markets to highlight investment and development opportunities, while connecting and facilitating new relationships to drive economic growth through development and regeneration.

UKREiiF aims to drive inclusive investment and economic growth. A UKREiiF spokesperson said: ‘Not only are we positioning ourselves with the largest cities and regional authorities across the UK – but we're also actively working and speaking to smaller local authorities to ensure their opportunities are promoted and shared. We're utilising many tools to do this, including our free-to-access Real Estate Opportunities Portal, alongside discounted costs for the public sector, SME developers/investors and more.

‘For those local authorities and regions who have given their support for UKREiiF we have set up dedicated investment facilitation sessions where we will bring investors, funders, end users and developers directly to them.'

The MJ Investment Guide to the UK will be placed before investors looking for opportunities at the event. There will also be a dedicated pavilion to include numerous activities and content, from inspirational speeches and keynotes, panel discussions and workshops – with leading figures and influential voices from many blue chip firms, developers, investors joining local and regional authorities, and Government officials.

And whether a local authority looking for investment or an investor looking for developments, The MJ Investment Guide to the UK will be essential media for promoting regeneration opportunities.
