With the city's focus on developing jobs and skills for young people Nottingham City Council's new chief executive Ian Curryer, a former teacher, should be well placed to help deliver the agenda. Michael Burton talks to him about the council's priorities.
One of England's flourishing core cities, Nottingham's civic leaders also have ambitious plans to invest in new business and regeneration schemes despite the recession. The focus above all else is on providing jobs and enhancing skills and educational achievement so it is apposite that a former teacher, Ian Curryer, recently took on the top job as chief executive of Nottingham City Council in January this year after Jane Todd stepped down from the role on health grounds.
