Planning overhaul to clamp down on 'unjustified local deviation'

Revised planning rules unveiled by the Government today would result in a ‘default yes’ in favour of development around train stations, on brownfield sites and for blocks of flats.

Revised planning rules unveiled by the Government today would result in a ‘default yes' in favour of development around train stations, on brownfield sites and for blocks of flats.

Other proposals in the draft National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) include exempting small sites from biodiversity net gain requirements and measures designed to support medium-sized developers.
