Preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG) is one of the most urgent challenges we face today. For me, this is not just a policy priority; it is a moral responsibility. Every statistic represents a life impacted, and every delay in action risks further harm. That is why bold thinking, innovation and collaboration are essential if we are to create lasting, systemic change.

I am proud Islington has been chosen as the lead London borough for the Cabinet Office's Test, Learn and Grow (TLG) Programme. This national initiative is designed to transform public services by embedding a culture of experimentation and rapid learning. For Islington, this is more than recognition; it is an opportunity to lead the way in shaping how local and central government work together to tackle complex social challenges.
