Rob Powell has not had long to prepare for his presidency of the Society of County Treasurers (SCT).

Powell, who is also executive director for resources at Warwickshire CC, unexpectedly found himself in the role after the departure of Nicole Wood when she was appointed chief executive of Essex CC.
