Reform UK-led Staffordshire CC has remained tight-lipped around the reason for a record £457,000 pay off made under the previous Conservative administration to an officer.

The remuneration to the unnamed officer was the highest made to any council employee in England during the 2024-25 financial year, according to analysis by the TaxPayers' Alliance campaign group.
