After the riots

A session at last week’s LGA conference in Liverpool heard insights from one place impacted by last summer’s rioting, with reflections on the key lessons learned. Martin Ford reports.

The issue of maintaining community cohesion was thrust into the spotlight after the shocking scenes of riots across several towns last summer.

One such town affected was Tamworth in Staffordshire, where a protest hastily arranged via Facebook turned violent.
