Rochdale BC chief executive James Binks has resigned, the council has confirmed.
Binks was suspended by the authority in November following allegations of inappropriate behaviour while he was employed by Manchester City Council.
The allegations came to light after Binks joined Rochdale as chief executive in April last year, when Manchester launched an internal investigation.
Binks spent 13 years at Manchester, most recently serving as assistant chief executive.
Julie Murphy, Rochdale's director of corporate services and section 151 officer has been appointed interim chief executive.
