An Audit Commission survey of more than 7,000 schools has given a ‘gold star' to council services for children and young people. The survey revealed that 88% of schools were satisfied with their councils, with improvements seen in several areas, including meeting the needs of disabled children. Commission chief executive, Steve Bundred, said the survey showed that communication between councils and schools needed to improve.
