Worcester City Council managing director Duncan Sharkey is to leave his post to become corporate director, place, at Milton Keynes Council, it has emerged.
Mr Sharkey, who has been in the top post for five years will step down at the end of May.
During his tenure as managing director, public satisfaction with Worcester has increased by 23% to 68% while the proportion of residents who believe the authority delivers value for money has increased from 36% to 54%.
