Leading through the power of choice

I’ve spoken before about the dangers of leaders getting ahead of their organisations, becoming really convinced of how right their vision is, and rushing off ahead before people are prepared for it.

I think there's a counterbalancing danger, which is where the organisation is ready for change and leaders are leaking energy trying to control it.

It made me think about the risk of that in local government and how you make sure that you're balancing pace in leadership with readiness in the organisation.
