Councils have been urged to begin to ‘boring but practical' work on Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) now.
While most authorities are yet to finalise the shape of unitary authorities in their areas, experts at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) told the Solace Summit in Leeds work should begin now to prepare.
