Councils face a challenge to prevent future attacks such as those in Southport that claimed the lives of three schoolgirls, children's services directors have warned.

The warning from the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS) comes following the conclusion of phase one of the inquiry into the 2024 murder of Elsie Dot Stancombe, Alice da Silva Aguiar and Bebe King.
